Outdoor Handicaps and Classifications

You may be aware that for the 2023 outdoor season there is a new system for setting all handicaps and archer classifications.

This means that all archers will be treated as new to the system and you will need to acquire a new handicap and classification.

Handicaps and Classifications are specific to the bowtype you shoot with so that you may have multiple different Handicaps and Classifications - one for Recurve, one for Barebow etc. 

A new handicap will be attained by shooting 3 rounds.The new handicaps are different to the old handicaps.

New classifications are now based on the number of arrows you shoot  determined by the level of the Classification.

As you may appreciate the changes mean a lot of work for the Club Records Officer, the club and also for you to get a handicap and classification. We are still working through what we need to do to recognise the new classification system.

However on thing is clear :

If you want to take part in the any of the Club competitions which are predominantly handicap based you need to shoot 3 rounds and submit your scores to the records officer asap to get a handicap.
