Beginners Courses

In order to become a member of the Kestrels you will need to have attended a beginner's course.

The course teaches all the basics of technique, etiquette, scoring, competitions etc. so that at the end of a course archers are fully capable of shooting safely in the sport and can progress to whatever level of achievement in the sport their ability and motivation allows.

This may be as a good club archer; shooting competitively at external events; representing the county; shooting at national events or representing their country.

We have been working in partnership with GH Coaching Serives a local but nationally recognised Archery Training Centre based at Hatch (SG19 1PS)  and Willington (MK44 3PT) who are delivering beginner courses for people of all ages.

The courses for younger children are during the holidays and take place over 3 consecutive days.

Those for adults and children over 13 take place on 4 consecutive Friday evenings.

Everyone who has completed a course are encouraged and welcome to join Kestrels Archery Club and we provide an equipment loan scheme so that you can shoot without buying your own equipment immediately.

You can find all details of the current courses here.
